Owner Karen Bassett, born and raised in Seattle, moved to New Hampshire in 2008. She couldn’t find coffee she loved, so she decided to roast it herself. She sold her home-roasted coffee beans at the Laconia Farmer’s Market and to friends and family. After a few years, she took the leap of faith into opening her own roastery cafe. She and her husband, Reuben, joined forces with their friend, Ben Bullerwell, a Laconia native, to open Wayfarer.
Our SCA trained and certified roaster carefully oversees the roasting process to ensure all of the flavors and sweetness in each variety are highlighted. We source quality, unique and ethically derived coffee beans from all over the world. We partner with distributors who have relationships with farmers to ensure best practices and fair price.
